RECENT HISTORY

June 9, 2007: The 40th Legislative District met in Friday Harbor. The topic of discussion was threats to our local agricultural and fishing communities and what can be done about them. Our speakers were State Committeewoman, Anne Mosness and 40th Legislative District San Juan Vice-Chair, Kevin Ranker.

January 2007: 40th Legislative District Reorganization Meeting

The 40th Legislative District held its reorganization meeting in Mt. Vernon, WA at the Skagit Democratic headquarters. A quorum of elected PCOs was established and 2006-2008 officers were duly elected.

April 8, 2006: Precinct Caucuses

40th LD could elect 30 delegates and 15 alternates

The three counties which are part of the 40th LD held their precinct caucuses at various locations listed below. At that time, each county elected a proportional number of delegates to our State Democratic Convention as follows:

Whatcom (Bellingham High) elected 13;

Skagit (Burlington-Edison High) elected 12;

San Juan County (Friday Harbor) elected 5.

The voting delegates to the Conventions and Caucuses, were previously elected at their grassroots Democratic Precinct Caucuses which were held on March 4th, 2006.
